Your alarm didn’t go off and you overslept. You are running late just when you’ve scheduled that important business meeting (Murphy never sleeps.) You’ve showered quicker than army men, drank your coffee in just two sips, got dressed in record time and you are ready to get out the door.
Oh, wait! There’s a huge and nasty wrinkle line on your shirt and you don’t have the time to iron it. What should you do?
Here are some lifesaver hacks you can thank us for later.
Use the Flat Iron
Your flat iron can help you remove small wrinkles from your shirt or straighten the collar. Pay attention to the settings (high for cotton and low for silk) and make sure to remove any residue before using it. Just for reference, here’s a video of flat ironing laundry.
Use a Pot
You can use a regular pot to get wrinkles out of your clothes if no iron is available. Put water in it and heat it. Make sure the bottom is clean and there is no greasy residue. Then, throw the water away and use the bottom of the pot to iron your laundry.
Use a Damp Towel
Here’s another life hack that can save you loads of time. Place your shirt on a flat surface. Cover the wrinkled area with a damp towel and pat it gently with your hands. That’s it – you’re done in less than one minute.
Steam Your Clothes in the Shower
Here’s another trick that can help you save time in the morning. Hang your clothes from the shower rod then close the door and window. Go about your usual routine: brush your teeth, shave, shower, and so on. By the time you are done, your clothes will be wrinkle-free. Be careful not to soak them wet during the process.
Use Your Blow Dryer
After you’re done blow-drying your hair, it’s time to move to your clothes. We are serious: the hot air can help you get rid of small wrinkles. Just make sure to hold the blow dryer about two inches from the shirt to avoid ruining it.
Sprinkle a Bit of Vinegar
Is there anything that vinegar can’t do? Not only that it can help you scrub your home clean, but you can also use it to get rid of wrinkles from your laundry.
Mix one part white vinegar to three parts water and sprinkle the spray on the clothes. Then, let them air dry for a few minutes. It’s fast, easy, and highly effective. And, don’t worry: your clothes won’t smell like vinegar.
Make Your Own Dewrinkling Spray
With a few kitchen ingredients and a bit of time, you can create your own spray that you can use in the morning to get rid of wrinkles from your clothes. Here is a DIY solution that we absolutely love.
Boil a Pot of Tea
What does tea have to do with the wrinkles on your laundry? Well, for one thing, they are annoying and you need to relax a bit. So, boil a pot of your favorite tea and enjoy a cup. But, before you do that, spout of the steaming pot about 12 inches away from the problem area. You will see the wrinkles disappearing in a matter of seconds.
